Financial Safety Issues

Financial Safety - General Consultation Principles

The single most important principle to understand and allow for when making your investment/ speculation plans is that nobody, but NOBODY, can consistently predict the future occurrence of any market event.

Financial safety starts and ends with that principle, a principle that almost everyone ignores.

The portfolio I recommend for long term savings too precious to risk has made slow, low, but consistent gains for 20 years [ averaging around 7% - 9% over the rate of inflation at any time over that period]. TO VIEW 30+ YEARS OF RESULTS FOR THIS PLAN, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Three Common, Ongoing Financial Safety Issues / Debates

[1] More Inflation coming? The Not-So-Great, Never-Ending Inflation/ Deflation Debate: [The Long Term View, 1880-2003]:

this graph [click here]shows that the Consumer Price Index [C.P.I.], has increased by 12-1300% since 1913 !

~

..and you might say: "Simple, buy precious metals, R.E.I.T.'s, oil futures - "short" treasuries etc.",

BUT, on the other hand.......

[2] More Disinflation, or Even Deflation, Next?

A shorter historical view graph, [1980- 2003], reveals a current trend the exact opposite of that displayed in the long term graph [1880-2003], and hints that further disinflation, or even deflation, is still possible!

And furthermore, the data that is shown in this graph [ U.S. Money supply M2, M3 & MZM measures], has already been touted by at least one "investment advisor" that I am aware of, as clear-cut evidence of a coming deflationary collapse [click on link for graph.]

My question for you:

What do these graphs REALLY mean for your precious, long-term savings?

[3] Foreign ownership of U.S Federal Government Debt Too High?:

[Explanation : a supposed increase in the percentage of U.S. government debt held by foreigners is often touted as a danger signal for the U.S economy - because foreigners might at some point decide to stop buying, or even to start selling en-mass, U.S. government debt, but as you can see, the level of debt they hold as a percentage of overall debt, has stayed pretty constant.]
